I was so excited yesterday, look what came in the mail for me all the way from Germany.
Thank you so much to Vicki for sending it to me. Vicki bought this t shirt at the Stuttgart concert earlier this year. When she read about my being upset over the lack of merchandise available at the LA concert on this post, she emailed me asking if I would like this t shirt and of course I said yes!
Here I am wearing it. Eros Ramazzotti fans are THE BEST!
Honestly, the next two hours were kind of a blur and went by in the blink of an eye. That man OWNED the stage, OWNED the theatre and EVERYONE in it with his showmanship, his voice that never failed him and his sheer enthusiasm and love for what he does. I could barely understand a word he said when he was talking, but no matter, I laughed, I cried, I sang, I danced, so many of us did. It was by far the best concert I have ever been to and I have seen the greats on stage; Eric Clapton, Elton John, Elvis Costello etc.
If you are interested in the set list for the night, please see the discussion on my Facebook page for more details. He did sing Stella Gemella (in Spanish), my favorite song ever and the rest of the songs were sung in a mixture of Spanish and Italian. Eros spoke throughout the night mostly in Italian with a little Spanish and a little English thrown in. The band sounded incredible, and did Eros proud! I can't really comment much on the lighting and special effects as I hardly noticed them at all, I kind of wish that I had taken in more of the whole stage now but that night, everything but Eros' performance was incidental. Eros played both electric and acoustic guitar and both sounded great.
Eros was so in tune with his audience and constantly interacted with them from the front, all the way to the back. I was a little concerned, and I caught a couple of glimpses were Eros appeared to be too, because quite frankly the security at the venue was not as it should have been. I saw two women at different times jump onto the stage and throw themselves at him (promise it wasn't me). It was dealt with quickly but it concerned me, I didn't want him accidently hurt. With that though, he reached out in my direction a couple of times and I touched his hand, the first time at the beginning of the concert and his hand and arm felt cold but later on he had warmed up nicely. He also graciously came down the steps right by me, which allowed me to pat his back. Eros was doing this all up and down the stage, left and right all evening, allowing his fans to interact with him. He even called out directly to my daughter and spoke to her and reached out his hand to her, so fun to be close to him for just a short time, the interaction with the audience was my favorite part of the night. Such a warm, giving, talented man. Great memories!
It was all over too quickly and we were going home. I couldn't sleep the two nights before the show and even though I was so exhausted when we got home, I couldn't sleep that night either, I was on such a high!
What a great night! Thanks Eros!
I will post videos either on this blog or on Facebook, when I figure out how to make that happen!
